BUILDING TOGETHER

Peace Tower Church's Building Campaign

Since the early 1900s, our historic building has been a foundation to City-Center, Ottawa.

While most churches in the heart of downtown Ottawa have become vacant, we are determined to expand our influence within our urban city and beyond.

Our mission is to build the kingdom of God beyond our lifetime; reaching as many lives as possible, planting churches, and training leaders for the ministry and marketplace.

For many generations, believers have called this historic stone church their home. Similarly, we plan to continue its legacy for lifetimes to come by restoring the building from the ground up.

Join us as we move forward by Building Together—for God’s vision, God’s house, and our future.

  • GOD'S VISION

“You are the salt of the earth & the light of the world” Matt 5:13-16

We are all called by God to bring the good news to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, and to proclaim freedom to the captives (Isaiah 61:1).

  • GOD'S House

“‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’” Mark 11:17

This building does not belong to us, it’s God’s house. That’s why we are intentional in creating an atmosphere of belonging, honour, and loving our local community sacrificially.

  • Our FUTURE

“‘For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”Jeremiah 29:11

Our mission is to build the kingdom of God beyond our lifetime for generations to come. That starts with restoring the church’s building from the ground up, so we can continue to provide a place to gather, disciple, and train leaders.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

The time to build more room for the work God has called us as a church to do is now. Let’s be generous in advancing His Kingdom purposes in and through Peace Tower Church. We are calling on our congregation to:

1. Pray

Prayerfully consider how God may be calling you to be generous.

Pray this prayer, "Lord, what are you asking me/us to give, above and beyond my our tithes and/or offerings, in financial support of the vision over the next 3 years?"

2. Reflect

God calls us to equal sacrifice, not equal gifts. Each of us should prayerfully consider giving in proportion. What does a sacrifice look like for you? Is there anything God is asking you to give during this season to support this vision?

3. Give

You can give a one-time donation or you can commit to a three-year commitment, which would be over and above your regular giving.

HOW TO GIVE?

Please designate any of your giving to "BUILDING TOGETHER."

Tax receipts are provided for all donations at year-end.

CASH OR CHEQUE

Donations can be placed in the offering on a Sunday morning or dropped by/mailed to the church office: 343 Bronson Avenue, Ottawa, ON, K1R6J2.

FAQs

  • The campaign began when the church’s ceiling started to crumble in our main sanctuary. As we opened up its structure, we experienced problem after problem. At that moment, we realized it needed much more repair than we originally expected.

In order to continue facilitating the work God has called Peace Tower to do in City-Centre Ottawa, we needed to begin renovations. Our goal is to become a community and outreach center for Ottawa and beyond for many years to come.

  • Donations of stocks, bonds, securities, real estate, or other assets can be an effective way to give. You can also donate a gift in kind or give income from savings, tax refunds, bonuses, or dividends.

  • Yes, donations of cash, securities or other assets to PTC are eligible for a charitable tax receipt for the calendar year in which it was received; this may significantly reduce your federal and provincial income tax each year.

  • We realize that our building is not up to code when it comes to accessibility. Our desire is for everyone to be able to come, that’s why we will be installing more wheelchair ramps, and an elevator in our building.
